QEMU provides support for following types of disk images for VM:

  • Raw - uncompressed and plain image of the disk
  • QCOW - QEMU Copy on Write provides incremental writes to disk image
  • QCOW2 - Improved QCOW image with support for snapshots

Contains custom core-dump handler that will dump benchmark core in case if application in VM crashes.

Note: This disk image contains modified Parsec benchmarks that uses ptlcalls for switching to simulation in ROI and also setup thread-affinity to cores. For thread affinity to work, you need to export environment variable PARSEC_CPU_NUM to number of cores you are simulating. You can use create_checkpoints.py python script to create checkpoints in this image using 'parsec_roi_list' as list of checkpoints.
